Monroy races Vineman 70.3 and qualifies for Worlds 70.3 to be held in Henderson, NV in September.

With a finish time of 4:46, she sets a personal record by 12 minutes. The Ironman 70.3 Vineman Triathlon consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run triathlon located in Windsor, California.

After the race, we asked Megan what went different for this 70.3 to set a personal record by an impressive 12 minutes.  She states, "Finally all this training is showing through! Such a relief! Seriously, the only thing that made up the 12 minutes outside of training was simple; calorie intake change and strategy change.  I transitioned over this year to the longer distance and it's taken awhile to figure out that the whole nutrition thing is NOT overrated for this distance.  It's a whole new ball game where experience is key, good or bad experience, it is key!"
