Colorado Always Sounded Nice...

So here I am.

Packed my bags one night and left the next morning.   Adventure and kick butt training lurked....

Was reminded how brief we experience this world.  Our lives are far too short.

Arrived in Colorado a happy camper...

Made even happier when we got out training...

(TYR top and bottom, Rudy Project glasses and helmet)

Landed ourselves in Vail for the Teva Mountain games, where I decided to enter my first Time Trial bike race ever, after being here 1.5 days.   Altitude adjusted yet?  No.  My  thoughts while racing: “Where is my power?  This hurts. Focus on breathing….”  The last half of the race was straight up a mountain, into 10,000ft of elevation.  A generous prize purse drew the big leaguers of Colorado.  Unfortunately,  I wasn’t one of them.

The final yards to the finish line hurt so good.....

Every day training is something new.  Every day this place takes  my breath away.  Natural beauty.

Too much to see.  Too little time....

In the mean time can't stop smiling....

Cruised into the Olympic training center today.....

 more to come.

A big adventure starts in a couple days....  a 6 day cycling quest through the Rockies.....
